Maize meal, also known as mealie meal or ugali, is a relatively coarse flour (much coarser than corn flour or corn starch) made from maize. It was originally brought to Africa from the Americas by the Portuguese but has now become the staple diet of most southern African countries.
INGREDIENTS
Maize kernels (100%) No added sugar, colour or preservatives.
HOW TO USE
Take a bowl and pour the water into it. Add salt to the water and mix it till it dissolves. Slowly add Red Star maize meal, a half cup at a time, and mix it gently to get a dough-like consistency.
STORAGE
Keep cool, dry. Seal tightly after opening.
