The tree is commonly called wild mango, bread tree, Dika nut, bush mango, Apon, Goron, and Mangifera gabonensis. It is widely grown in Nigeria, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, and Benin for its edible sweet fruits and seeds. In these regions, the fatty and protein-rich seeds are the most popular part of the tree.
